Can I copy optimized recordings back to my ClonerAlliance UHD Halo?¶
Yes. If you plan to copy optimized recordings back to your ClonerAlliance UHD Halo, add the --device-safe option when optimizing. It keeps the file fully compatible with playback on the device while still applying the improvements for computer use.
Using the –device-safe Option¶
.\mp4fix-windows-x64.exe optimize --device-safe -r "E:\Recordings"
Note
--device-safe can be combined with --copy if you also want to keep the untouched original file. See How to optimize recordings with MP4Fix? for all options.
You can also run this directly on the memory card or USB drive while it is connected to your computer, then put the storage back into the device.
When You Do Not Need It¶
If your recordings stay on the computer for playback and editing, plain mp4fix optimize is all you need - --device-safe is only for files that will return to the device.
On-Device Playback¶
Your recordings play perfectly on the UHD Halo just as they are recorded - optimization is never required for on-device playback. MP4Fix only matters when you play or edit recordings on a computer.
