What Is MP4Fix?¶
MP4Fix is a free command-line tool from ClonerAlliance that optimizes MP4 recordings made by the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo, so they play and edit at their best on Windows and macOS computers.
What MP4Fix Does¶
Your UHD Halo writes recordings with a compact timeline that is ideal for playback on the device itself. When you move those recordings to a computer, desktop players and editing software can make use of a richer timeline.
MP4Fix enriches that timeline so third-party software gets the most accurate information possible - smoother motion, tighter audio alignment, and more reliable importing in players and editors such as VLC, QuickTime, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
Your video and audio are never modified. Only the small index at the end of the file is rewritten - typically less than 0.1% of the file.

Note
MP4Fix is a single portable file. There is no installer and nothing to uninstall - simply delete the file when you are done.
Works With All Your Recordings¶
Recordings from any date are supported, including files you recorded long before MP4Fix was released.
You can run MP4Fix directly on the memory card or USB drive while it is connected to your computer.
Your recordings play perfectly on the UHD Halo just as they are - optimization is never required for on-device playback. MP4Fix only matters when you work with recordings on a computer.
