Connection guide for ClonerAlliance UHD Halo¶
This comprehensive connection guide covers all ways to connect devices to the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo, including common setup scenarios.
Basic Connection Setup¶
The standard connection flow is:
Video Source → UHD Halo → TV/Monitor
HDMI Connection¶
Connect HDMI source devices (game consoles, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, cameras, etc.) to the HDMI IN port on the UHD Halo. Then connect the HDMI OUT port to your TV for passthrough display.
The top HALO ring LED turns green when an HDMI signal is detected.
The passthrough output supports up to 4K@60fps with less than 20ms latency.
USB Type-C Connection¶
Connect Type-C source devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops) to the Type-C port on the UHD Halo using the included Type-C cable. The device must support DP Alt Mode for video output.
The top HALO ring LED turns blue when a Type-C DP signal is detected.
The UHD Halo can simultaneously charge connected devices at up to 65W via PD.
Audio Connections¶
The UHD Halo provides multiple audio ports for flexible audio mixing:
LINE IN (3.5mm) — Connect external audio sources such as music players or phone audio output.
MIC (3.5mm) — Connect a microphone for commentary or narration. Supports TRRS (4-pole) and TRS (3-pole) connectors.
LINE OUT (3.5mm) — Connect headphones or speakers for audio monitoring during recording.
AUX (3.5mm TRRS) — Headset jack for combined audio input/output.
Storage Connections¶
USB 3.0 port — Connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive. The side LED turns green when recognized.
TF card slot — Insert a MicroSD/TF card. The side LED turns blue when recognized.
Common Connection Scenarios¶
Scenario 1: Gaming Console Recording¶
Connect game console HDMI OUT → UHD Halo HDMI IN.
Connect UHD Halo HDMI OUT → TV HDMI IN.
Insert USB storage device into the USB 3.0 port.
(Optional) Connect a microphone to MIC for commentary.
Press REC to start recording.
Scenario 2: Smartphone Recording with Charging¶
Connect smartphone Type-C port → UHD Halo Type-C port using the included Type-C to Type-C cable.
Enable DP Alt Mode or Desktop Mode on the phone (Android) or connect directly (iPhone).
Insert a storage device (USB or TF card).
The UHD Halo will charge your phone at up to 65W while recording.
Press REC to start recording.
Scenario 3: PC Live Streaming (To PC / UVC)¶
Connect your video source to UHD Halo HDMI IN.
Connect UHD Halo Type-C port → PC USB-C/USB-A port (using the included cables).
The PC will recognize the UHD Halo as a UVC capture device (1080p@60fps).
Open OBS Studio or your preferred streaming software and select the UHD Halo as the video source.
(Optional) Connect UHD Halo HDMI OUT → TV for passthrough monitoring.
