Audio Input Sources

The UHD Halo supports the following audio input sources:

  • HDMI Embedded Audio — Audio carried within the HDMI signal from the source device. This is the default audio source and requires no additional connection.

  • LINE IN (3.5mm) — Connect external audio devices such as music players, phone audio output, or other line-level sources.

  • MIC (3.5mm) — Connect a microphone for recording commentary or narration.

  • Mixed Sources — Combine HDMI audio with LINE IN and/or MIC simultaneously for audio mixing.

Navigate to MenuAudio Settings to adjust the following:

Setting

Description

Video-In Volume

Controls the volume of the HDMI embedded audio (range: 0–100)

Line In Volume

Controls the volume of the LINE IN audio input (range: 0–100)

Mic In Volume

Audio Encoding Settings

Audio encoding options are configured under MenuRecord Settings:

  • Audio Codec: AAC

  • Audio Bitrate: 128 kbps / 192 kbps / 320 kbps

For high-quality audio recording, select 320 kbps. For smaller file sizes, 128 kbps is suitable.

Independent Audio Recording

The UHD Halo supports recording the HDMI embedded audio as an independent MP3 file, separate from the video recording. This is useful for extracting audio tracks from video sources.

Audio Monitoring

Connect headphones or external speakers to the LINE OUT (3.5mm) port to monitor the audio being recorded in real time.

Practical Audio Scenarios

Scenario 1: Game Recording with Commentary

  • Audio sources: HDMI (game audio) + MIC (commentary)

  • Adjust Video-In Volume and Mic In Volume to achieve a balanced mix.

Scenario 2: Game Recording with Background Music

  • Audio sources: HDMI (game audio) + LINE IN (background music from a phone or player)

  • Connect the phone audio output to LINE IN and adjust the volumes accordingly.

Scenario 3: Full Audio Mix (Game + BGM + Commentary)

  • Audio sources: HDMI (game audio) + LINE IN (background music) + MIC (commentary)

  • Adjust all three volume levels independently for the best result.
