How to use LINE IN and MIC mixing with ClonerAlliance UHD Halo?

This article covers the LINE IN and MIC audio inputs on the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo, including supported device types and practical mixing scenarios.

LINE IN Usage

The LINE IN (3.5mm) port accepts line-level audio signals from external sources:

  • Phone audio output (headphone jack)

  • Music players or portable audio devices

  • External audio mixer output

  • Other line-level audio sources

Note

LINE IN is designed for line-level signals only. Do not connect a microphone directly to the LINE IN port — use the dedicated MIC port instead.

Audio Mixing Scenarios

Scenario 1: Game Audio + Commentary

  • Connect a microphone to the MIC port.

  • Adjust Video-In Volume (HDMI game audio) and Mic In Volume in Menu → Audio Settings.

  • Balance the levels so the commentary is clearly audible over the game audio.

Scenario 2: Game Audio + Background Music + Commentary

  • Connect a music player or phone audio output to the LINE IN port.

  • Connect a microphone to the MIC port.

  • Adjust Video-In Volume, Line In Volume, and Mic In Volume independently.

  • Start with lower volumes on LINE IN and MIC to avoid clipping, then increase gradually.

Scenario 3: Video Audio + Background Music

  • Connect a music player or phone audio output to the LINE IN port.

  • Adjust Video-In Volume and Line In Volume to blend the background music with the source audio.

Volume Balance Tips

  • Start all volume levels at a moderate setting (around 50) and adjust from there.

  • If audio distortion or clipping occurs, reduce the volume of the loudest source first.

  • Use LINE OUT with headphones to monitor the mixed audio in real time before recording.

  • The volume settings are applied to all future recordings until changed.
