Troubleshooting HDMI passthrough issues on ClonerAlliance UHD Halo¶
If the TV or monitor connected to the HDMI OUT port shows no picture or an unstable picture, follow the steps below to troubleshoot the HDMI passthrough.
Symptoms¶
TV screen is black while the source device is powered on.
Picture is flickering or unstable.
Resolution or framerate does not match the expected output.
Troubleshooting Steps¶
Check the HDMI OUT cable — Ensure the cable connecting the UHD Halo’s HDMI OUT port to your TV or monitor is securely plugged in at both ends. Try using a different HDMI cable if possible.
Check the TV input source — Make sure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input channel that the UHD Halo is connected to.
Verify the HDMI OUT resolution setting — Open the OSD menu and check Menu → Output Settings → HDMI OUT Resolution. Set it to Auto to let the UHD Halo automatically match the TV’s supported resolution, or manually select a resolution that your TV supports.
Restart the device — Power off the UHD Halo, wait a few seconds, and power it back on. Then reconnect the HDMI cables.
Check cable quality for 4K — If you are passing through a 4K@60fps signal, ensure your HDMI cable supports HDMI 2.0 or higher. Older cables may not carry 4K signals reliably.
Passthrough Specifications¶
Passthrough latency: Less than 20ms — suitable for real-time gaming.
Maximum passthrough resolution: 4K@60fps (requires HDMI 2.0 cable and a TV that supports 4K input).
Note
The HDMI passthrough output resolution is independent of the recording resolution. You can record at 1080p while passing through 4K to the TV, or vice versa.
