How to set up ClonerAlliance UHD Halo for first-time use?¶
This guide walks you through the complete first-time setup process for your ClonerAlliance UHD Halo, from unboxing to your first recording.
Step 1: Check the Package Contents¶
Before setting up, verify all items are included:

65W USB-C PD power adapter × 1 (with plugs and adapter)
HDMI cable (1.5m) × 1
USB Type-C to Type-C cable (1.0m) × 1
USB Type-C to USB-A 3.0 cable × 1
433MHz wireless remote control × 1

Note
USB storage devices and TF cards are not included. Please prepare a compatible storage device before proceeding.
Step 2: Connect the Power¶
Connect the included 65W USB-C PD power adapter to the UHD Halo power input port. Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Note
Always use the included 65W PD charger for optimal performance. The 65W power adapter also enables charging connected Type-C devices during recording.
Step 3: Connect to a Display¶
Use the included HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on the UHD Halo to your TV or monitor. This allows you to see the OSD menu and passthrough video.
Step 4: Power On¶
Press the power button. The device will automatically boot and display the welcome screen on your TV.
Step 5: Set the Language¶
On the welcome screen, select your preferred language using the remote control directional keys and press OK to confirm.
Step 6: Set the Time Zone¶
Select your time zone from the list. An accurate time zone is important for the time watermark and scheduled recording features.
Step 7: Prepare Storage¶
Insert a USB storage device or TF card into the corresponding port:
USB storage: Insert into the USB 3.0 port. The side LED will turn green when recognized.
TF card: Insert into the TF card slot. The side LED will turn blue when recognized.

If the storage device is not recognized, try formatting it to exFAT and reinserting. See Storage device formatting guide for ClonerAlliance UHD Halo for details.
Step 8: Connect a Video Source¶
Connect your video source to the UHD Halo:
HDMI source (game console, set-top box, etc.): Connect to the HDMI IN port. The top HALO ring LED will turn green.
Type-C source (smartphone, tablet, laptop): Connect via a Type-C cable to the Type-C port. The top HALO ring LED will turn blue.
Step 9: Test Your First Recording¶
Confirm that the video source signal appears on your TV via passthrough.
Press the REC button on the device or remote control.
The side LED will begin flashing, indicating an active recording.
Record for a few seconds, then press REC again to stop.
The recording file will be saved to your storage device.
Step 10: Check for Firmware Updates¶
It is recommended to check for the latest firmware after initial setup:
Use the remote control to navigate to Menu → System Settings → Firmware Version.
Note the current version number.
