How to update firmware on ClonerAlliance UHD Halo?

This article explains how to check your current firmware version and perform a firmware update on the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo.

Step 1: Check the Current Firmware Version

1. Press MENU on the remote control to open the main menu.

2. Navigate to System Settings.

3. Select Firmware Version.

4. Note the current firmware version number displayed on the screen.

Step 2: Download the Latest Firmware

• Contact ClonerAlliance customer support to obtain the latest firmware for the UHD Halo. The firmware is provided only through customer support and is not available for download from the website.

• The firmware is a single image file with a .img extension. Save this .img file to your computer.

Step 3: Prepare a USB Drive or TF Card

1. Connect a USB flash drive or a TF card to your computer.

2. FAT32 is the recommended format. Other formats also work, but FAT32 is preferred for firmware files.

3. Copy the downloaded .img firmware file to the root directory of the USB drive or TF card. Do not place it inside a subfolder.

Note

Keep the firmware file name exactly as it was downloaded. Do not rename the .img file, or the UHD Halo may not detect it.

Step 4: Perform the Firmware Update

1. Insert the prepared USB drive into the USB 3.0 port on the UHD Halo, or insert the TF card into the TF card slot.

2. Press MENU on the remote control to open the main menu.

3. Navigate to System Settings → Firmware Update.

4. The device will automatically detect the firmware file on the USB drive or TF card.

5. It will prompts “Firmware image is available, Reboot and update firmware?”

6. Choose “Yes” to continue updating firmware.

7. The UHD Halo will restart automatically after the update is finished.

Step 5: Verify the Update

1. After the device restarts, press MENU → System Settings → Firmware Version.

2. Confirm that the firmware version number has been updated to the latest version.

Important Warnings

• Do not update the firmware on your own without guidance. Updating the firmware incorrectly carries a risk of damaging the device. Always confirm with ClonerAlliance customer support before performing a firmware update.

• Do not power off or disconnect the device during the firmware update process. Interrupting the update may damage the device.

• Ensure the USB drive or TF card is properly connected before starting the update.

• Do not rename the .img firmware file. Keep the original file name as downloaded, otherwise the device may not detect it.

• Only use firmware files officially provided by ClonerAlliance for the UHD Halo model.

• If the firmware update fails, do not attempt to update again immediately. Contact ClonerAlliance support for assistance.
