How to record HDMI audio only with ClonerAlliance UHD Halo¶
The ClonerAlliance UHD Halo supports recording the HDMI embedded audio as a standalone audio file, without any video. This is useful for extracting audio from video sources.
How to Operate¶
After connecting the device, press the “Switch button”
on the remote control to switch the recording mode to audio recording with one click. You can then start recording audio separately, while also mixing audio via Line-in and Mic-in, and save it as an MP3 file.
When to Use This Feature¶
Concert or live event recording — Capture high-quality audio from a broadcast or playback source.
Lecture or presentation audio — Record the audio track from a video presentation.
Audio extraction — Isolate the audio component from an HDMI source for later use.
Output Format and Quality¶
File format: MP3
Available bitrates: 128 kbps / 192 kbps / 320 kbps
Select the bitrate under Menu → Record Settings → Audio Bitrate before starting the recording.
320 kbps — Recommended for high-quality audio capture.
192 kbps — A good balance of quality and file size.
128 kbps — Suitable for voice recordings or situations where file size is a priority.
Advantages¶
Small file size — Audio-only MP3 files are significantly smaller than video recordings, making them convenient for storage and sharing.
Simple workflow — No video editing is required; the audio file is ready to use immediately after recording.
Note
Make sure a storage device (USB or TF card) is inserted and detected before starting the audio-only recording.
