Connection Steps

  1. Connect your USB Type-C device (phone or tablet) to the Type-C IN port on the UHD Halo using a Type-C cable.

  2. The top LED turns blue, confirming that a DisplayPort signal has been detected from your device.

  3. The device screen content appears on the connected TV or monitor via HDMI passthrough.

  4. Insert a USB storage device or TF card into the UHD Halo.

  5. Press REC to start recording.

Device-Specific Notes

Android Devices

  • Android phones and tablets must have Desktop Mode (also called DP Mode or DeX on Samsung) enabled before connecting to the UHD Halo.

  • Once Desktop Mode is active, the screen content will automatically mirror to the TV.

iPhone / iPad

  • No additional settings are required on iPhone or iPad. Simply connect via Type-C and the screen content will appear on the TV.

Simultaneous Charging

The UHD Halo provides up to 65W Power Delivery (PD) charging through the same Type-C cable used for video output. This means your phone or tablet can charge while being recorded, enabling long uninterrupted recording sessions.

Recording Specifications

  • Maximum recording resolution: 4K@60fps

  • The UHD Halo automatically adjusts to match the output resolution of your connected device.

  • If your device outputs a lower resolution (e.g., 1080p), the recording will match that resolution.

Use Cases

  • Mobile game recording — Capture gameplay from phones or tablets in high quality.

  • Phone screen tutorials — Record step-by-step guides directly from your device screen.

  • Tablet drawing processes — Record creative or design workflows on drawing apps.
