How to update firmware on ClonerAlliance UHD Halo?¶

This article explains how to check your current firmware version and perform a firmware update on the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo.
Step 1: Download the Latest Firmware¶
Download the latest firmware for the UHD Halo using the Download link in the Latest Firmware Version section at the top of this page. If you need an earlier version or have any questions, contact ClonerAlliance customer support.
The firmware is a single image file with a
ums600_update_ota.imgextension. Save thisums600_update_ota.imgfile to your computer.
Step 2: Prepare a USB Drive or TF Card¶
Connect a USB flash drive or a TF card to your computer.
Copy the downloaded
ums600_update_ota.imgfirmware file to the root directory of the USB drive or TF card. Do not place it inside a subfolder.
Note
Keep the firmware file name exactly as it was downloaded. Do not rename the ums600_update_ota.img file, or the UHD Halo may not detect it.
Step 3: Perform the Firmware Update¶
Insert the prepared USB drive into the USB 3.0 port on the UHD Halo, or insert the TF card into the TF card slot.
Press MENU on the remote control to open the main menu.
Navigate to System Settings → Firmware Update.
The device will automatically detect the firmware file on the USB drive or TF card.
It will prompts “Firmware image is available, Reboot and update firmware?”
Choose “Yes” to continue updating firmware.
The UHD Halo will restart automatically after the update is finished.
Do not power off, unplug, or disconnect the UHD Halo at any time during the firmware update. If the power is interrupted while updating, the device will be permanently bricked (unusable) and will lose its warranty coverage.
Step 4: Re-pair the Remote Control¶
Updating the firmware clears the existing remote control pairing. After the update completes and the UHD Halo restarts, the device will display the following message:
Remote control not paired! Please press and hold “i” for 5 secs to pair the remote control!
Pair the remote control right away, before performing any other operation:
Press and hold the “i” button on the remote control for about 5 seconds.
When the Remote Control Pairing window appears, select Yes, then press OK.

Warning
During and after an update the remote control is unpaired, and an unpaired remote can seriously interfere with nearby UHD Halo units. For this reason, do not update the firmware on two or more UHD Halo units at the same time — update your units one at a time. For example, two unpaired remotes will cause serious interference between two UHD Halo units. See Remote control notes for using multiple ClonerAlliance UHD Halo units in the same room.
Step 5: Verify the Update¶
After the device restarts, press MENU → System Settings → Firmware Version.
Confirm that the firmware version number has been updated to the latest version.
To confirm the minor version, press the “i” button on the remote control and check the bottom-right corner of the screen for a Ver xxxxxx label. It should match the Minor Ver listed in the Latest Firmware Version section above.

After updating to the new firmware, if your TV shows an “Unsupported Content” message, follow the steps in this guide to resolve it.
Important Warnings¶
Do not update the firmware on your own without guidance. Updating the firmware incorrectly carries a risk of damaging the device. Always confirm with ClonerAlliance customer support before performing a firmware update.
Do not update multiple UHD Halo units at the same time. Every update leaves the remote control unpaired, and an unpaired remote can seriously interfere with nearby UHD Halo units. Update and re-pair one unit at a time.
Do not power off or disconnect the device during the firmware update process. Interrupting the update may damage the device.
Ensure the USB drive or TF card is properly connected before starting the update.
Do not rename the
ums600_update_ota.imgfirmware file. Keep the original file name as downloaded, otherwise the device may not detect it.Only use firmware files officially provided by ClonerAlliance for the UHD Halo model.
If the firmware update fails, do not attempt to update again immediately. Contact ClonerAlliance support for assistance.
