USB device not detected on ClonerAlliance UHD Halo - what should I do¶
If the UHD Halo does not recognize your USB storage device, the side LED will not light up. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.
Troubleshooting Steps¶
Re-insert the USB device — Remove the USB device and plug it back in firmly. It is recommended to insert the USB device before powering on the UHD Halo.
Try a different USB port — If the UHD Halo has multiple USB ports, try plugging into another one.
Test the USB device on a PC — Connect the same USB device to a computer to verify it is working correctly.
Format the device — Format the USB device to exFAT or NTFS using a PC. See Storage device formatting guide for ClonerAlliance UHD Halo for formatting instructions.
Repair disk errors — If Windows displays a prompt to repair the USB device when it is connected, run the repair and try again.
Try a different USB device — If the issue persists, the USB device may be incompatible with the UHD Halo.
Important Notes¶
Some USB storage devices may not be compatible with the UHD Halo due to driver or power requirements.
Large-capacity mobile hard drives may require an additional external power supply. Powered USB hubs can help in this case.
It is best practice to insert the USB device before turning on the UHD Halo to ensure proper detection.
