Why does my phone show “Moisture detected” when connected to UHD Halo¶
Some phones display a “Moisture detected” warning when connected to the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo via USB Type-C. This is a normal phenomenon and does not indicate a fault with either the phone or the UHD Halo.
Why Does This Happen?¶
The UHD Halo provides up to 65W Power Delivery (PD) charging through its Type-C port. The voltage output is approximately 5.3V, which is slightly higher than the standard USB voltage that some phones expect on initial connection. Certain phone models interpret this as an anomaly and display the moisture warning as a precautionary alert.
Is It Safe?¶
Yes. The voltage output is within a safe and standard range for USB PD devices.
The warning does not indicate actual moisture in the Type-C port.
Recording and simultaneous charging functions are completely unaffected.
How to Resolve the Warning¶
The warning will typically disappear on its own after a few seconds. If it persists, you can try the following:
Dismiss the warning — Tap the notification to dismiss it. The connection and charging will continue normally.
Connect a USB storage device — Plugging a USB storage device (such as a mobile hard drive) into the UHD Halo can act as a voltage divider, which may prevent the warning from appearing on subsequent connections.
Note
This warning is triggered by specific phone models and is not a universal behavior. Not all phones will display it when connected to the UHD Halo.
