Connection Options

Option 1: Type-C DP Connection (Recommended for Laptops)

  • Connect directly via USB-C cable to Type-C DP IN port

  • No external power required

  • Computer recognizes RecDual Dongle as external display

Option 2: HDMI Connection

  • Connect via HDMI cable to HDMI IN port

  • External power required via Type-C PWR port

  • Works with any computer that has HDMI output

Display Mirroring Setup

When recording from a computer via Type-C DP, you may need to configure display mirroring:

Windows

  1. Right-click on the desktop

  2. Select Display settings

  3. Under “Multiple displays”, select Duplicate these displays

macOS

  1. Open System Preferences (or System Settings)

  2. Go to Displays

  3. Click Arrangement tab

  4. Check Mirror Displays

Tip

If you don’t enable mirroring, RecDual Dongle will record the extended desktop content, not your main screen.
