Supported Devices for RecDual Dongle

RecDual Dongle supports a wide range of devices through its dual input system. Devices can connect via HDMI or Type-C DP (DisplayPort Alt Mode).

HDMI Input Devices

Any device with an HDMI output can be recorded via the HDMI IN port:

  • Gaming Consoles: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch

  • Set-Top Boxes: Cable boxes, streaming devices

  • Blu-ray Players: DVD and Blu-ray disc players

  • Cameras: DSLR and mirrorless cameras with HDMI output

  • Computers: Desktop PCs and laptops with HDMI output

Note

HDMI recording requires external power via the Type-C PWR port.

Type-C DP Input Devices

Devices with Type-C ports that support DisplayPort Alt Mode can connect via the Type-C DP IN port:

Device Requirements

For HDMI Connection

  • Device must have HDMI output capability

  • External power supply required for RecDual Dongle

For Type-C DP Connection

  • Device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C

  • Not all Type-C ports support video output - verify your device specifications

  • No external power required (device powers the RecDual Dongle)

Tip

To check if your device supports Type-C DP:

  • Look for “DisplayPort Alt Mode” or “DP Alt Mode” in your device specifications

  • Thunderbolt ports always support DisplayPort

  • Some devices may require enabling a specific mode in settings
