How to Use Audio Input with RecDual Dongle?¶
RecDual Dongle features an AUX port that serves dual purposes: microphone input for commentary and headphone output for audio monitoring.
AUX Port Overview¶
Specifications:
Connector: 3.5mm TRRS (4-pole) jack
Functions: Microphone input OR line output
Compatibility: Standard headsets with microphone
Dual Function:
As Input: Connect external microphone for voice commentary
As Output: Connect headphones for audio monitoring
Using as Microphone Input¶
Add voice commentary to your recordings:
Compatible Microphones:
Lavalier (clip-on) microphones with 3.5mm plug
Headsets with built-in microphone
External microphones with 3.5mm output
Setup Steps:
Connect microphone to the AUX port
Set up your video source connection (HDMI or Type-C DP)
Start recording as normal
Speak into the microphone
Audio Mixing:
Microphone audio is mixed with source audio
Both tracks are combined in the final recording
There is no separate audio track option

The source device’s speaker is disabled

General Tips:
Check that AUX cable is fully inserted

Limitations¶
Only one function at a time with single-port devices
No separate audio level controls on device
Cannot adjust microphone gain independently
Audio mixing is automatic, no manual control
