How to connect HDMI sources to ClonerAlliance UHD Halo?¶
This article explains how to connect HDMI source devices to the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo for recording and passthrough.

The UHD Halo supports a wide range of HDMI source devices, including:
Game consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
Set-top boxes and cable/satellite receivers
Camcorders and action cameras with HDMI output
Blu-ray players
Other devices with HDMI output
Connection Steps¶
Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on your source device to the HDMI IN port on the UHD Halo.
Connect the HDMI OUT port on the UHD Halo to your TV or monitor using another HDMI cable (or the included one). This step is optional if you do not need passthrough display, but is recommended for monitoring.
Power on the UHD Halo.
Power on the source device.
The top HALO ring LED will turn green once the HDMI signal is successfully detected.
Note
If the top LED does not light up, check the HDMI cable connection and ensure the source device is outputting a supported resolution.

Resolution Handshake¶
When a new HDMI source is connected or the source device changes its output resolution, the UHD Halo performs a resolution handshake. During this process:
The TV screen may go black briefly (1–3 seconds).
The top LED may flicker temporarily.
This is normal behavior and does not indicate an error.
The UHD Halo supports input resolutions up to 4K@60fps via HDMI 2.0.
Troubleshooting¶
No signal on TV (black screen)
Verify that the HDMI cable is securely connected at both ends.
Ensure the source device is powered on and outputting a video signal.
Try switching to a different HDMI input on your TV.
Reconnect the HDMI cable to the UHD Halo.
Top LED does not turn green
Check if the source device is outputting an HDMI signal.
Try a different HDMI cable.
Restart the UHD Halo.
Resolution appears incorrect
Check the output resolution setting on your source device.
Ensure the source device is set to output a resolution supported by the UHD Halo (up to 4K@60fps).
