How to record videos to USB storage with ClonerAlliance UHD Halo?¶
This article explains how to record videos to a USB storage device using the ClonerAlliance UHD Halo.
USB Storage Requirements¶
File system: exFAT or NTFS (recommended). FAT32 is supported but limited to 4GB per file.
Capacity: 128GB or higher recommended for 4K recording.
Speed: USB 3.0 devices are recommended for 4K@60fps recording at high bitrates.
How to Connect¶
Insert the USB storage device into the USB 3.0 port on the UHD Halo.
The side LED will turn green (solid) once the device is recognized.
Note
If the side LED does not light up, try reinserting the USB device. If it is still not recognized, try formatting it to exFAT and reinserting. See USB device not detected on ClonerAlliance UHD Halo - what should I do for troubleshooting.
How to Record¶
Connect a video source (HDMI or Type-C) to the UHD Halo.
Confirm the USB device is recognized (side LED green).
Press the REC button on the device or remote control.
The side LED will begin flashing green, indicating that the recording is in progress.
Press REC again to stop the recording.
Where Are the Recorded Files Saved?¶
Recorded files are saved to the root directory or DCIM folder of the USB storage device, depending on the file name settings configured in the OSD.
Important Notes¶
Do not remove the USB device while recording is in progress. This may result in a corrupted or incomplete file.
If both a USB device and a TF card are connected, the OSD will prompt you to select the target storage device before recording.
For best performance during 4K@60fps recording, use a USB 3.0 device with sufficient write speed.
